Kent Sangster
Juno Award-nominee Kent Sangster has been a prominent member of
Canada’s jazz scene for almost 20 years as a saxophonist, educator,
bandleader, composer-arranger, and producer. Having released five original
jazz albums and performed and recorded with some of Canada’s top jazz
personalities, Kent is considered one of Canada’s finest jazz saxophonists.
Kent Sangster has performed and recorded with a number of jazz greats both
in North America as well as Europe, including Chucho Valdez, Pat Metheny,
Joe Lovano, David Liebman, Ira Sullivan, Randy Brecker, Bob Mintzer, Tommy
Banks, Guido Basso, Ed Bickert, Carol Welsman and Hilario Duran.
Kent is a full time faculty member of Grant MacEwan University and is the executive and artistic Director of the Edmonton International Jazz Festival.
